The Election Fever in the Comox Valley:
We're forgotten until there is an election. Candidates from all parties show up making us feel important. The landscape is peppered with 'vote for me' signs. The same old same old.
Here it is with just a couple of days left, and I don't have a clue who to vote for. I don't know these candidates. All I know is that they want my vote.
I know every vote counts, but feel like my vote doesn't really matter. Federal politics is a huge machine - I'm insignificant. We're a bunch of local yokels who cast our vote based on very little information 'fed' to us by the candidates.
What's the alternative - not vote?

Example Exposing Fake Article
This is the perfect example of an individual attempting to publish a fabricated article and how easily people like this are exposed.

Information IS power.
The videos posted at Union Bay Improvement News http://www.youtube.com/user/UnionBayImprovement/videos are to provide information to the public regarding the process and decisions being made on your behalf by those who promised to represent YOUR interests.
I previously provided your government with copies of the videos, but in keeping with their policies - information is not shared.
It is impossible for people to attend all the meetings, and the miniscule information provided in the minutes and the Landowners Update are inadequate.
In keeping with my beliefs - I want all of us to know what's going on. Only videos regarding The Union Bay Improvement District will be posted. More videos will be added to keep information current.

Misappropriation
In law, misappropriation is the intentional, illegal use of the property or funds of another person for one's own use or other unauthorized purpose, particularly by a public official, a trustee of a trust, an executor or administrator of a dead person's estate or by any person with a responsibility to care for and protect another's assets (a fiduciary duty). It is a felony, a crime punishable by a prison sentence.
From 2007 Mail Outs Titled "Fairness In Our Community", and posted on old blog. Still believe it to be true.
Again, if anyone thinks I’ve got my facts wrong. maryreynoldsis@hotmail.com more at http://allthingsunionbay.blogspot.com/ By the way, I’m not auditioning to become a friend etc., so I’m not interested in comments regarding my presentation, style, bluntness, politeness blah blah - get it? This is not personal – it is business – I don’t care if one of your relatives or friends or neighbors is an elected official. They are accountable – like it or not. It doesn’t matter what level of government – they are elected.

k
This project is starting to resemble something my ex would put together. If he made a mistake at the beginning, he wouldn't go back and fix it, he'd try to cover it up in the next step and so on. The results were always a piece of crap - worthless.
KIP is one of those projects.
Talk about a comedy of errors. How many worthless documents do they have so far? I'd say KIP must have a nice stack of documents that are open to court challenges.
I was a KIP supporter at one time. Then I realized the core group of supporters want this project no matter what. Over the years they've bullied, bullshitted - you name it. We all know the good work the Residents Association provided the community until it self imploded. Some seem to be fighting for their very lives, which is very odd unless they have investments to protect.
It really makes you wonder what we haven't found out yet.

I Didn't Know That.
I was under the impression Vancouver Island Health Authority mandated all water purveyors to meet 4-3-2-1-0 standards by 2015.
Not so, from what I have read. Apparently, the deadline for meeting those standards apply only to purveyors who want to add new subdivisions to their system.
These costly systems are not required unless new subdivisions are added.
I was wondering how many small communities were able to handle these costly upgrades. Easy, they aren't trying to become a city in the country. They're living within their means.
Champagne taste - beer budget.

Imagine what it's going to be like when these trucks (42 tonne B-trains) start hauling the coal to Port Alberni, 3 to 4 per hour, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Astro - The Whippet on the Move
This little guy is so fast. I slowed down the video in one section in order to see his agility in action. Lots of laughs when this fellow shows up. This is not a fragile dog!
