This is such a good example of the problems faced by Union Bay caused by those who governed for the past 11 years or so. What is planned to bring us up to the efficiency displayed by Deep Bay?
Had hoped there would be a Ralph Klein approach, cuts must be made - it will be painful - but we have to get our finances in order. Ralph delivered.
The Community can not afford these high costs in wages and the number of staff employed. We have an example in Deep Bay. Let`s cut back. We were told two employees are required by WCB. The example of the bee alergy is too much - I don`t buy it. Still have one guy driving a truck following another employee who reads the meter with a wand. WTF.
Looking through old Meeting Minutes, over and over again, it`s stated about putting money aside for future infrastructure repairs, fire department, etc. But there doesn`t seem to be any money anywhere. We have been poor for years and yet previous boards thought we should take on more responsibility. Joining the First Responders cost us a fortune compared to what little money we have. The truck cost over $100,000. The fire department has become a money pit. We can hardly keep our heads above water financially, we don`t need to go looking for more areas to be responsible for which drain what little resources we have.
We don`t even have the rental income which had been reported from the school building. Seems the person doing the books posted money as income when it was actually just transferred. Well, that certainly gives me confidence all is accurate and as it should be.
I can`t help but think, there must be so much the community doesn`t know...........yet.
To Ruth McVeigh: You can take credit for playing a part in deceiving landowners while you and your cronies were ruling the Union Bay Residents Association.
